Sit by a river.
Find peace and meaning
In the rhythm
Of the lifeblood of the Earth
Today we took the girls to the river. After Mila was through talking about how “nassy” the water was, she finally started enjoying herself. 🙂
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a dozen times – I am living in God’s country.
There were lots of families enjoying themselves up and down the river. You don’t exactly wear your Sunday best to the river, so I’m sure they are mentally thanking me for not taking pictures of them!
It was shallow enough for Mila to walk across with Mazzy, but still get completely under if she wanted to.
Those girls were really getting into all the little creatures that live there. Well, not all of them, thank God! Out of sight, out of mind, you know? I don’t like thinking about what’s in that murky water.
I had to get a little closer to see what was fascinating them. Isn’t it cool how they look connected?
And there were lots of snails. Mazzy brought home an empty snail-shell for her collection (of shells, not snails).
What’s fascinating about the shells is that they are clear. The snail is what makes them dark. Wish I would have gotten a picture.
Another fun day for our family!
